How long have you been crafting?
I've been crafting for around 3 years. I first started as a way of having cards whenever I needed them, no matter if the Holidays matched up between two countries (New Zealand the US).

I started watching Youtube videos looking into cardmaking and then mimiced the techniques, designs, and styles of others until I found a "style" that I could call my own and be more confident.

I first started watching Tim Holtz and Kristina Werner, and still find that their style closely matches mine. I love Tim's vintage and worn looks, paired with a mixed media and collage style. Kristina's fresh and simple style captures how I use the more "modern" looking papers in my collection. Two contrasting styles, but I love them both.

Is getting into crafting expensive?
Just like any hobby - it is what you make of it.

If you want to get into crafting and try a few things that piqued your curiosity or drew you into the hobby in the first place - start there and see where it will take you.  Most supplies aren't expensive, and you can even make your own and it will save you a bit of money if you have the time willing to put into it.

If you want to seriously get into the crafting world, be a member of a design team - there are some caveats and you will be putting some serious money and time into the hobby.

You CAN budget for this - it can be done.  You can set aside an amount of money each pay check for crafting and just use that.  You can get free or even cheaper materials if you know where to look and don't mind recycling items or asking for freebies

Possibly the most expensive aspect of crafting is recording it, and how you wish to record it either through video or photos.

What kind of tools do you use?
A list of tools can be found here.
Sometimes I get new tools in and should update my list.  Never underestimate the value of a good tool - if a tool presents a shortcut for some technique that you love - try it.

Where do you get your inspiration, or who is your design inspiration?
I get a lot of inspiration from either the supplies themselves or through sketching. Keeping pen and paper with you to sketch out little ideas is a good thing.

I also have a pinterest board where I pin other cards I see for later.
I follow other designers as well.

What does your craft space look like?
My craft room can be found here.
This space has been reorganised, but the layout is still the same.

What do you use to film your videos?
I'm currently using a Logitech webcam paired with Webcam Settings in Mac OSX Mountain lion to film my videos.
I plan to be moving to a dedicated video camera.
What camera do you use to take photos?

I am using an Canon EOS 400D/Rebel XTI.  This camera has served me well but is rather bulky, which is probably 1 reason I don't take photos that often.

For my instagram and instablog shots I'm using my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone with Camera FV app.

Can I link to your blog or follow it?
Sure! Feel free to join the followers section or via email.

Do you do custom cards or boxes? Do you have an etsy, ebay, or Trademe store?
I do limited requests for friends and family and have not opened it up to a commercially viable project, as this is a hobby and not my main line of work.
Currently I do have an Etsy and Trademe presence, but am not looking to sell anything at this time.

Can you design my blog?
I can barely get enough time to design my own blog, despite having a background in web design.  I went with an off the shelf system and then edited some basic CSS.

I'm using the built in template with a background change.
